This Provider Agreement supplements the Boxed Off Terms of Service and applies specifically to users who register as service providers on the Platform. By creating a provider account, you accept both the Terms of Service and this Agreement.
1. Independent Contractor Status
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, partner, or franchise of Boxed Off. Nothing in this Agreement or the Terms of Service creates any employment relationship. You are solely responsible for:
- Filing your own tax returns and paying income tax, USC, PRSI, and any applicable VAT
- Obtaining any trade licences, certificates, or registrations required for your services
- Complying with all applicable employment and health & safety law in the delivery of your services
- Providing your own tools, equipment, and materials
You are free to work for other platforms and clients simultaneously. Boxed Off does not guarantee a minimum volume of bookings.
2. Fees
Boxed Off is free for providers. We do not charge you any commission, subscription, listing, or upfront fee. You receive the full price you set for your service on every completed booking.
Boxed Off is funded by a booking fee charged to the consumer, added on top of your price at checkout. This fee is paid by the consumer and does not reduce your payout in any way.
Example: If you set your service price at €80, you receive €80 on completion. The consumer separately pays a booking fee on top of that €80 at checkout.
The only amount that may be deducted from your payout is the payment processing fee charged by Stripe, our payment provider, in line with their standard pricing.
We may introduce or revise provider-side fees only with 30 days' written notice, and you may terminate your account before any such change takes effect.
3. Payout Schedule
Funds are released from escrow once the booking is marked complete via PIN entry. Payouts are transferred to your registered Stripe Express bank account within 2 business days of completion.
To receive payouts you must:
- Complete Stripe Express onboarding (including Stripe's identity and bank verification)
- Provide a valid Irish or EU bank account
- Maintain good standing on the Platform (no active suspension)
Stripe may apply their own holds on new accounts in accordance with their Terms of Service. Boxed Off is not responsible for delays caused by Stripe's own verification processes.
4. Service Standards & Obligations
You agree to:
- Arrive at the agreed time and location for every booking
- Deliver the service as described in your profile and service listings
- Treat all consumers with professionalism, courtesy, and respect
- Maintain reasonable standards of hygiene and presentation
- Not engage in any form of discrimination on grounds of race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or any other protected characteristic
- Keep your availability calendar up to date to avoid double-booking
- Respond to booking requests within a reasonable time
- Not arrange or accept payments for bookings outside the Platform
Failure to meet these standards may result in negative reviews, consumer disputes, and ultimately account suspension.
5. Identity Verification
All providers must complete identity verification (via Stripe Identity) before their profile is published on the Platform. This is a one-time requirement and involves submitting a government-issued photo ID.
Your verified status is displayed on your profile as the "ID Verified" badge. This badge cannot be transferred to another account. If your identity cannot be verified, your account will remain in draft status and will not accept bookings.
We may require re-verification if we have reason to believe your identity has changed or if Stripe requires it.
6. Insurance
You are solely responsible for holding appropriate insurance for the services you provide. Depending on your service category, this may include:
- Public liability insurance (strongly recommended for all providers)
- Professional indemnity insurance (for regulated services such as beauty therapy, physiotherapy)
- Employer's liability insurance (if you engage sub-contractors or assistants)
- Goods in transit insurance (if you transport client belongings)
Boxed Off does not provide insurance to Providers. Boxed Off's platform liability is limited as set out in the Terms of Service. You are solely liable for any injury, damage, or loss caused in the delivery of your services.
Providers who upload proof of public liability insurance receive an "Insured" badge on their profile, which may increase consumer confidence and booking rates.
7. Cancellation Policy
You are expected to honour all confirmed bookings. If you need to cancel:
- More than 24 hours before the appointment: Cancellation is permitted without penalty.
- Less than 24 hours before the appointment: The consumer receives a full refund and a platform credit of €5. Providers who cancel with short notice repeatedly will be subject to review.
- No-show (provider does not attend): The consumer receives a full refund plus a platform credit. This is treated as a serious breach and may result in immediate suspension.
Repeated cancellations (more than 3 in a 90-day period) will trigger a review of your account and may result in restrictions on the number of bookings you can accept.
8. Reviews & Responses
Consumers may leave a rating and review after each completed booking. You cannot suppress, delete, or pay to remove genuine reviews. You may post one response per review; responses must be professional and factual.
We display your average rating and total review count on your public profile. Providers who achieve an average of 4.8 or above with 20+ reviews are automatically awarded the "Top Rated" badge.
If you believe a review is false or defamatory, contact trust@boxedoff.ie with details. We investigate all reports but cannot guarantee removal unless the review violates our guidelines.
9. Suspension & Termination
Voluntary termination
You may close your provider account at any time from your account settings. Any pending payouts for completed bookings will be processed normally. Active bookings at the time of closure must be honoured or cancelled in accordance with the cancellation policy.
Suspension by Boxed Off
We may immediately suspend your account — with or without prior notice — if you:
- Breach these Terms or the Terms of Service
- Engage in prohibited conduct (see Terms of Service Section 9)
- Accumulate a pattern of cancellations, no-shows, or poor reviews
- Are the subject of a consumer dispute that we determine in the consumer's favour
- Provide false identity information or fail re-verification
- Are reported for safety-related conduct
During suspension, your profile is hidden and you cannot receive new bookings. We will notify you of the reason for suspension and, where appropriate, give you an opportunity to respond.
Permanent termination
Serious or repeated breaches may result in permanent termination. In such cases, any balance owed to you for already-completed bookings will still be paid out.
